About

The North Peace Cultural Centre opened its doors in June of 1992 and has been the centre of the Arts & Cultural Community since. With its unique lobby and concourse that stretches literally for a city block, it has acquired a 'Mall of the Arts' reputation. Home to the Peace Arts Gallery, The Fort St. John Library, and the Cool Beans Cafe, The Centre is a great place to stop by for a coffee and a quick dose of culture in the heart of Fort St. John. The Centre hosts a 413 seat theatre that presents numerous performances every year, ranging from big name performers, to local community plays and awards ceremonies. The Centre proudly hosts hundreds of events every year, and is home to the Peace Arts Gallery Society, internationally renowned Watt School of Irish Dance, and the North Peace Community Choir. The Stage North Theatre Society produces three or four major drama productions every year and the local School District utilizes it for school shows and cultural performances. Meeting rooms and dressing rooms fill the rest of the facility and you can enroll in the Centre's own Artspace Educational Programs throughout most of the year. In the very heart of Fort St. John and the North Peace, the Cultural Centre is walking distance to three major hotels, shopping, restaurants and service businesses. The staff of the Centre are professional, courteous and friendly and will try to accommodate all your performance or event needs.
